Fire Training

This should not be a “nice to have” for your business – Fire Training is a requirement of the Fire Safety Order.

The responsible person has a duty of care to ensure the fire safety of their staff.

Fire Safety Training should be should be given upon induction and refresher training should be provided at least annually.

This may also include the appointment of competent nominated staff with fire safety responsibilities and other staff who should receive adequate information, instruction and training on a regular basis including the use of fire extinguishers.

In the event of the alarm being raised these nominated staff will assist in the evacuation ensuring all persons leave the building safety.

Suitably trained staff may fight small fires enabling an escape or preventing significant damage to the premises.

Relevant & suitable training will make the workplace a safer place for all occupants by heightening staff awareness which in turn will reduce the possible occurrence of fire .

The type and frequency of the training should be determined by the fire risk assessment, the business activities, its size and even location.

KeloScape can provide Fire Safety awareness training for employees and training of those with particular duties in a fire emergency, such as fire wardens. Training can be tailored to suit the client and their requirements: for example references to the clients site and their emergency procedures.

Where required by the client, practical extinguisher training can be provided using a small fire in a tray that is environmentally friendly, safe and realistic in use, which demonstrates to attendees the heat produced by fire. The practical utilises CO2, Water and Foam extinguishers and requires an area equal to approximately 3 car parking spaces.
